IX. Officials A. Starter: will stage and start all races, and act to convey the track officials' instructions to the riders. He will assign spots on the start grid, start races, halt races when necessary, or black flag riders. B. Technical Inspector: (See Also Technical Inspection) will inspect motorcycles for mechanical safety, riders' protective gear and adherence to the aforementioned technical requirements and class legality. Upon his acceptance, he will certify the motorcycle / rider combination by marking the motorcycle. C. Technical Arbitration Committee: exists for riders to contest any official decision or to mediate disputes between riders. Protests shall be brought before the Committee and the Committee will pass judgment by a vote. A committee member who is directly involved in a protest or dispute may not vote. The Arbitration Committee will consist of five (5) elected officials. In making its decisions, the Committee has the power to interpret these rules and decide their intent so that racing on the track determines a winner, not the rulebook. D. Corner workers: primary responsibility is to warn oncoming riders of danger on the track ahead by means of colored flags and to communicate with officials the status of the racetrack in their area. |
